Are you in a 3G area with poor 3G signal? If so it might not be your battery but the signal swapping consuming lots of battery power as it trips from GSM to 3G and vice versa. It's a very common complaint where the 3G signal is sketchy.
If you don't use 3G you may as well turn it off. In the main menu go to Tools > Settings > Phone > Network and then change network mode to GSM. Try running the phone for a few days like this and see the results you get before you try the new battery option.

As well as taking Keffa's advice, you probably want to check that there are no applications running in the background on your handset.
Press on the menu key for a few seconds and you'll see a list of applications currently open. If there's anything other than "Standby" in the list then that's already one reason why your battery is being drained more than it should be.
