You are welcome ![]()
My personal opinion is that nokia will not add support for all older models. They'll use this as a bargaining chip to convince users of older phones to upgrade to newer ones if they want the free nav.
Only time will tell......

That is kinda what I was thinking when I saw which phones are supported, but the problem might also be the hard and software restrictions of older phones of course, who knows...

I hope they make it available for pre-touchscreen... though we can already see evidence that they are ignoring the non-touchscreen phones while releasing the betas of Maps 3.
The free nav is already available for the E52, E55 E72, 6710 & 6730. None of those phones have touchscreens.

Yeah you are right. Strange, I would have thought the software that runs on all those phones should run on any S60 FP2 mobile as well!
I will cross my fingers for my N82 though, which happens to be FP1.

I´ll go and get a Nexus one - they don´t play these stupid games with different models. Free navigation using google maps and it even accepts voice commands.
Bye Nokia

LOL, so you are leaving a company that gives free voice nav all over the world for over 10 different phone models for a company that gives it on one model in one country?
Wise choice ![]()

@psycho - That cracked me up. Although it is true, but then if he never leaves that particular country, he wouldnt need the other maps.

Also don't forget that the nexus one would also need a permanent data connection to download the maps as you travel. A nokia doesn't use as much data as the maps are stored on the memory card.

The free ovi maps is the main reason I decided not to continue moving over to WinMo for the Mobile office. It seems that the deal between Nokia and Microsoft to offer MS mobile office on E-series phones are delayed. Oh well. I'll stick to quickoffice for now. Looks like I wont be changing my phone soon anyway.
Sorry for being Off-Topic. LOL.
