NEW FREE NOKIA MAPS (v. 3.0)

Heyaa.....

 

I got the Nokia 5800 XM....just wondering if i will be charged for using the new free nokia maps??? if so how much??

Depends how you use it.

If you want voice guided sat nav, then you have to buy a license key.

You can get a 7 day free trial, before you decide to pay.

 

The GPS reciever in these phone is (I'm sorry to say) rubbish.

Good luck when trying to get a lock on.

Unless of course you use assisted GPS, but this requires a mobile web connection.

If you have free internet, then using GPS on your phone should cost anything extra other than the software.

 

Nokia maps still works without a license, but you can't use guided navigation, it's purely a map with your location marked as a moving icon.

Sat nav and voice guidance is now completely free with 3.03.

Kust switch off agps on swittch maps into off line mode and you won't be chargerd a penny.

Find your model in the drop down list to the right, and follow the simple instructions that follow.

 

Navigation is now free for your device. Forever.

also, to enjoy full FREE package from Nokia .. goto

 

MENU->APPS->LOCATION-> enable only Intergrated GPS

 

(disable all GPS eg. Bluetooth GPS, Network GPS, Assisted GPS)

 

Thats all .. ure freely movable anywhere in the world with applicable maps installed :smileyvery-happy:

I would still get a data plan , maps 3.03 gives a lot more than navigation if you allow it to use the web ( plus the whole phone experience is vastly improved if the phone is allowed internet access), but it will work purely with built in gps.

yeah, don't forget to update map application on your phone using application updater. I love my 5800 so much more than before.:smileyhappy:
