Yep grea post! its lovely isnt it! and it works perfectly over every wireless network so far!! 5*****
People thinking of signing upto O2s £7.50 a Month WEB deal is a bit of a con as its the WAP protocal and cant stream audio for radio or video for iplayer. shame, seems Vodafone have it licked well done BBC something back for the licence fee!

It has nothing to do with the WAP protocol (which it isn't anyway). It has everything to do with O2 asking the BBC not to serve content to their packet data users. Vodafone and '3' users are good to go, but not O2, Orange or T-Mobile (or MVNO's piggy-backing on these networks).

just to clear up the wifi and o2 debate here...
any o2 n95 user can acess the cloud network free of charge in any mcdonalds weatherspoons and other free wifi zone, you can also use your home network free of charge, the only thing you cannot do is use your wap to stream bbc iplayer or any other mobile video such as facebook or youtube as this incurs a data conversion charge, O2 will not be offering any form of unlimited mobile broadband unless you use an iphone or blackberry

To quote your previous post: the only thing you cannot do is use your wap to stream bbc iplayer or any other mobile video such as facebook or youtube as this incurs a data conversion charge, O2 will not be offering any form of unlimited mobile broadband
What does WiFi have to do with this?
The fact remains that you can use O2's packet data service (when it's working) for streaming such as youtube, facebook et al. (but not the BBC iPlayer) and you can do so on an unlimited data plan. WiFi has nothing to do with this.
Also, the mind boggles as to why WiFi would not include data... It's nothing BUT data.

unlimited data is different to the unlimited web bolt on... there are 3 choices of bolt on available to o2 customers. the unlimited data bolt on is the unlimited blackberry option and this does allow streaming video, but most of o2 custmers will not be aware of this as an option for there accouint and will just ask for unlimited web. unlimited web does not include streaming video and unlimited wifi does not include it either.

I use it for streaming audio at least and for e-mail all the time and I've never been charged anything outside my monthly plan.

thats because you have unlimited DATA... and that means unlimited web/video/email everything. that is different to unlimited web or unlimited wifi, Whats the point in having an argument about it i was just trying to clarify thats all.
PS the web is back up and running now on the network ![]()

in my office they all say a blackberry bolt on gives unlimited data so it would be better for streaming video to avoid any charges.

totoanon, I just need to clarify: can you confirm that 02 'unlimited' data package actually is unlimited and does not have an actual 1 or 2 GB limit masquarading as 'fair usage' like all the other networks?![]()
So, for example I could download 3GB of podcasts, watch videos on youtube plus several show on the BBC Player (at 4-500MB each) each month and not have my download speed limited or any extra charges?
If that's true, I may actually consider switching to 02 ![]()
