Nokia N93 video editing bug report

Seems like this is the most official place to post this, so...

Videos taken on the N93 always play fine in Apple's Quicktime Player, but they are problematic in the bundled version of Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0, which is buggy in that it ignores the audio component of some video clips. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme nor reason to why sound is fine for one clip and not another, but I tend to suspect a bug in Premiere Elements rather than the N93 itself.

Can this be reported to Nokia's Adobe liason, please? I can supply problem example clips if necessary.

Re: Nokia N93 video editing bug report

lol no not an email for bug reports, but for all support.

if you find a bug or problem, our support people will look into it for you and report it to the relevant people.

If you use the email form on www.nokia.com/support then the bug will be reported.

Cheers

Re: Nokia N93 video editing bug report

Absolute dead loss. Nokia support replied quickly but uselessly. They suggested I contact Adobe or take the N93 to a service centre... Yes, it's most likely a buggette in Premiere Elements 2.0, but it's almost certainly something that's due to the interaction with the video format used by the N93. And in any case, this is the software provided by Nokia on the N93 CD. And I'm already on the latest N93 firmware.

At the very least, I'd have thought the bug report would get passed to the Nseries multimedia team....

Re: Nokia N93 video editing bug report

part of one of my previous jobs meant i had to do this too.

it wasnt untill after i left i found out that we had to do this and get a **bleep**py consumer response - but the case was still logged and passed on to the backroom boys.

but i take your point - its fairly disheartening to get that sort of response

Re: Nokia N93 video editing bug report

I think I have a new bug to report. I will also fire it off to support but would like to know if anyone else is experiencing this. Movies made with my n93 play just fine in quicktime 7.13 but if I created a mp4 movie in quicktime using the h.264 codec only the audio will playback in the n93 realplayer no video will play. the movie I create conforms to the mp4 standard. If I create a basic mp4 in quicktime Which I belive uses the h.263 codec, which is far less quality, it will play just fine on the n93. This means one of two things, I am doing something wrong, in which case can someone please tell me how to shoot and play mp4 h.264 AVC movies on my n93. Or it means that nokia mislead customers when it stated that the n93 uses the latest h.264/AVC mp4 codec. I really hope that it is not the later but from my tests the n93 DOES NOT capture in or playback in the superior h.264 AVC. Greg

Re: Nokia N93 video editing bug report AVC update

Update:
I downloaded a few clips from the nseries/studio site that were itunes m4v which uses h.264/avc. they played fine in real player. I guess it is possible that the latest version of Quicktime somehow produces a avc file that real does not like. As for the n93 recording in h264, that is still not possible.
